Hero MotoCorp has launched the Xtreme 250R Carbon, a new variant that brings significant enhancements in both hardware and technology. This update introduces several exciting features that are worth noting.

New Features of the Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon

The Xtreme 250R Carbon comes equipped with a ride-by-wire system that offers four distinct riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, and Track. Each mode features individually calibrated traction control, enhancing the riding experience based on varying conditions. Additionally, the bike includes a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

In terms of instrumentation, the traditional LCD display has been upgraded to a modern 4.2-inch TFT screen sourced from the Xpulse 210. Another notable update is the rear suspension, which now incorporates Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). This innovative system uses a secondary valve to adjust damping automatically, optimizing performance according to the speed and frequency of road irregularities. This allows the suspension to stiffen for quick responses to bumps, while softening for smoother, longer compressions.

Engine Specifications of the Hero Xtreme 250R

The heart of the Hero Xtreme 250R remains a 249cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which produces 30 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 25.3 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This torque figure shows a slight increase of 0.3 Nm compared to the previous model, achieved at a higher rev range of 250 rpm.

Performance Comparison with the KTM 250 Duke

Testing has shown that the Hero Xtreme 250R is faster than its competitor, the KTM 250 Duke. In performance trials, the Xtreme 250R achieved a 0-60 km/h time of 3.15 seconds and a 0-100 km/h time of 8.22 seconds. In contrast, the KTM managed these runs in 3.44 seconds and 8.50 seconds, respectively. It should be noted that these figures pertain to the standard model, but since the engine specifications remain unchanged, the Carbon variant is expected to deliver similar performance metrics.

Pricing of the Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon

The new Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon is priced at ₹1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is ₹14,000 more than the standard Xtreme 250R. This increase follows an ₹11,000 rise in the price of the standard model with the introduction of the Carbon variant. Despite this price hike, the Carbon version is still more affordable compared to the KTM 250 Duke, which retails at ₹2.28 lakh.

Available Color Options

The Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon is available in three striking color options: Carbon Red, Carbon Black, and Carbon White. In addition to these colors, the Carbon variant features colored wheels and unique graphics, enhancing its appeal on the road.
