The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the examination dates for Class 10 and Class 12 students for the academic year 2027. The announcement was made public on November 6, 2026, via the board’s official website, cbse.gov.in.
Exam Schedule Details
According to the released schedule, the Class 10 board examinations are set to commence on February 16, 2027, and will conclude on March 9, 2027. Meanwhile, Class 12 students will begin their exams on the same starting date, February 16, but their sessions will extend until April 9, 2027.
These dates are crucial for students as they allow ample time for preparation and planning for one of the most significant academic milestones in their school careers. The CBSE board exams are a critical part of the Indian education system, determining future academic and career paths for students.
Practical Exam Schedule
In addition to the written exams, CBSE has also outlined the schedule for practical examinations and internal assessments. These assessments for the 2026-27 session are slated to take place from January 1, 2027, to February 13, 2027. This timeline applies to all CBSE-affiliated schools within India and internationally.
For schools situated in regions with winter conditions, practical exams will be conducted earlier, from November 9 to December 19, 2026. This adjustment ensures that all students, regardless of geographical location, have adequate time and resources to complete their assessments.
Implications and Preparations
The timely release of the exam dates provides students, educators, and parents with the necessary information to strategize and optimize study schedules. It also allows schools to plan and organize the logistics required for conducting the exams smoothly.
Students are encouraged to make the most of this period by engaging in thorough revision and practice, utilizing available resources to ensure they are well-prepared for both the theoretical and practical components of their exams.
