Investigation Launched After Baby Orangutans Discovered in Odisha Forest
The discovery of five baby orangutans in an Odisha forest has led to a trafficking investigation, as these critically endangered animals are native only to Indonesia and Malaysia. Authorities are exploring how they arrived in India, suspecting illegal smuggling. After being rescued, the orangutans are now in quarantine at a zoo, while officials express grave concerns for their well-being, given their young age and lack of adult supervision.
