The TVS Raider 125 has made significant waves in the sporty 125cc motorcycle segment since its launch in 2021, becoming a key player in revitalizing this category. Its popularity prompted competitors such as Hero, Honda, and Bajaj to introduce their own models to capture market interest. In response to its success, TVS has rolled out a series of new features for the Raider, particularly in its top two variants.
New Features for the Raider 125
The latest enhancements to the TVS Raider 125 are exclusive to the TFT DD and SXC DD variants. Notably, the rear tyre size has been increased to 120/70-17, which is larger than the previous 110/80-17, contributing to improved grip and stability on various surfaces.
Among the four new features incorporated are traction control, emergency brake warning, and a 27W USB-C charger. This traction control system is a first for the 125cc segment, designed to minimize rear wheel slip and ensure that both wheels maintain traction on loose or uneven terrains. The emergency brake warning feature activates hazard lights to alert drivers behind the motorcycle during sudden braking, enhancing safety on the road.
Additionally, the upgraded USB-C charger replaces the former 12W USB-A charger, allowing for quicker device charging while riding. Despite these advancements, the engine specifications and overall design of the Raider remain unchanged, with the 124.8cc engine continuing to deliver 11.2 horsepower and 11.75Nm of torque, which includes a boost from an integrated starter-motor-generator.
Pricing and Availability
The dual-disc braking system, paired with single-channel ABS, continues to be a standout feature of the top two variants. The updated pricing reflects the new features, with the Raider TFT DD variant now priced at Rs 1.03 lakh and the SXC DD variant available for just over Rs 1 lakh. TVS has confirmed that these enhanced models will be accessible at dealerships nationwide.
