Bajaj is actively enhancing its Pulsar motorcycle range, and the Pulsar N250 is the latest model to benefit from these updates. Recently, a new SS variant of the N250 has made its way to dealerships after being spotted testing alongside the NS200 last month. Additionally, an updated version of the Pulsar RS200 was also observed during testing, although there are no official details available for that model as of yet.
Among the notable improvements for the Pulsar N250 is the introduction of a new 6-speed gearbox, which replaces the previous 5-speed transmission. This change is expected to provide a more comfortable cruising experience at higher speeds. Furthermore, while the engine remains a 249cc air/oil-cooled unit, there may be a slight performance enhancement from the current output of 24.5 horsepower and 21.5 Nm of torque.
Key Features and Specifications
The updated Pulsar N250 is equipped with several advanced features that align it with modern riding expectations. It now includes a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster capable of mirroring Google Maps, which enhances navigation while on the go. Riders can also choose from five different riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain, Off-road, and Tour, catering to various riding conditions.
In addition to these electronic upgrades, the motorcycle features traction control, a bidirectional quickshifter, and a USB Type-C charger. Other enhancements include a new rear radial tire for improved grip and performance, as well as updated switchgear and adjustable levers for both the clutch and brake. These improvements reflect Bajaj’s commitment to providing riders with a more versatile and user-friendly experience.
Pricing and Competitors
The new variant has begun to arrive in dealerships, although Bajaj has yet to make an official announcement regarding its launch. The standard Pulsar N250 is currently priced at Rs 1.45 lakh, while its primary competitor, the Suzuki Gixxer 250, is available at a cost of Rs 1.85 lakh. It is anticipated that the upcoming SS variant will carry a slightly higher price tag due to the inclusion of the new features and gearbox.
As the motorcycle market continues to evolve, Bajaj’s updates to the Pulsar N250 signify a strategic move to enhance its appeal in a competitive landscape, ensuring it remains a strong contender in its segment.
