maruti suzuki exports over 50000 electric vehicles globally

Maruti Suzuki India has achieved a significant milestone by exporting over 50,000 electric vehicles (EVs) since the commencement of international shipments in August 2025. The company has established a strong presence in approximately 50 countries, with Europe emerging as the most prominent market for its exports.

According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti Suzuki accounted for an impressive 93 percent of India’s total EV exports during the first half of the fiscal year 2027. This remarkable figure underscores the brand’s dominance in the EV sector, reinforcing its status as a leading exporter.

Production at the Hansalpur Facility

The exclusive manufacturing facility for Maruti Suzuki’s electric vehicles is located in Hansalpur, Gujarat. Recently, this plant underwent an expansion, increasing its annual production capacity to 1 million vehicles. This achievement marks it as the first Suzuki manufacturing plant to reach such a capacity at a single location.

The Hansalpur facility not only supports domestic demand but also plays a crucial role in meeting the international market’s needs for electric vehicles. The plant’s capability ensures that Maruti Suzuki can sustain its export growth while maintaining high production standards.

Models Available for Export

Among the electric vehicles exported by Maruti Suzuki is the e Vitara, a mid-size SUV that is gaining traction in overseas markets. Another model from the same plant is the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, which is essentially a badge-engineered variant of the e Vitara.

The e Vitara is priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh, while the Ebella is available for Rs 23.6 lakh. The e Vitara features two battery options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh pack, while the Ebella is offered exclusively with the larger battery. These vehicles are being shipped to several international destinations, including the UK, Norway, Germany, Japan, and Switzerland, with all prices listed as ex-showroom in India.
