Seaver, who was once the head of security for Parton, is alleged to have made these threats following the announcement of her death last month. The management company, She’s Alive, which oversees Parton’s business operations and properties, has sought a temporary civil restraining order against Seaver. The court filings claim that Seaver was involved in an “obscene, deliberate and escalating campaign of threats,” allegedly demanding payment from the estate and threatening to damage Parton’s business empire if his demands were not met.
In response to these accusations, Seaver has denied any wrongdoing. He stated to TMZ that the text messages and emails cited in the court documents were misrepresented and taken out of context. Seaver argued that the content depicted him and another individual conversing in a private, emotional manner during a time of grief.
Seaver’s Role and Response
Seaver, who is the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, had been responsible for Parton’s security for two decades. Recently, he was dismissed from his role by She’s Alive, which he described as “unexpected” and “unexplained.” In a statement, Seaver and his company expressed their refusal to be intimidated by actions they perceive as profit-driven and in bad faith.
The restraining order request was filed in Nashville by Danny Nozell, Parton’s longtime manager, who leads She’s Alive. The documents include claims that Seaver threatened to “destroy” Parton’s brand and mentioned plans to start a podcast to expose alleged violations committed against his family unless he received payment.
Allegations of Intimidation
Further allegations suggest that Seaver used his background as a military contractor to intimidate employees. Court documents mention an email where Seaver allegedly referred to himself as a “killer” and claimed to have conducted significant arms deals on the day of Parton’s passing. Seaver, however, maintains that his words were misconstrued, asserting that he was speaking candidly with someone he considered a friend.
These developments have led to resignations among some employees and legal representatives for Parton’s estate, as indicated in the court filings. She’s Alive has reportedly increased security measures for its employees, including at their residences, due to the situation.

Seaver had previously been known for announcing Parton’s death via a video on her Instagram account, where he solemnly delivered the news. He mentioned that Parton had requested him to make this announcement years before, and he had taken over the security role from his father, Larry.
