anticipating the 2026 toyota glanza facelift design features and more

The launch of the 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift is scheduled for October 14, 2026, shortly following the release of the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Toyota has provided a teaser that offers a sneak peek into the design of their forthcoming premium hatchback.

Design Expectations for the New Glanza

The teaser reveals significant updates to the front of the 2026 Glanza. While the full design is yet to be unveiled, there are notable parallels with the refreshed Maruti Baleno. The front fascia has undergone major changes, starting with the repositioning of the Toyota emblem from the grille to the bonnet’s leading edge. A striking shiny garnish now extends into the revamped bumper.

Additionally, the circular fog lamps have been replaced by rectangular ones, and the air-intake features a hexagonal pattern. It is also expected that the new Glanza may incorporate an ADAS unit similar to the one in the updated Baleno. Although new color variants might be introduced, the dimensions are predicted to remain consistent.

Interior and Features

The interior of the 2026 Glanza facelift is anticipated to mirror the existing model, maintaining the familiar dashboard layout with physical controls and a dash-top infotainment display. However, new buttons on the steering wheel may be added to complement the anticipated ADAS features.

The facelift is likely to bring in features similar to those in the updated Baleno, such as ventilated front seats and wireless charging with cooling. Other features like a 9-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, and connected car technology will likely continue. Safety enhancements are expected to include Level 2 ADAS, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and possibly adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking. Additional safety features like a 360-degree camera and six airbags are also expected to be retained.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the 2026 Glanza is expected to undergo a significant change. The current 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine will likely be replaced by a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit, potentially producing 83hp and 112Nm, a slight decrease from the previous engine. The transmission options are expected to remain a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

In line with the previous model, a CNG variant is anticipated, with performance figures similar to the Maruti counterpart, at 70hp and 102Nm. Fuel efficiency is expected to improve, surpassing the current model’s figures of 22.35kpl to 22.94kpl.

Pricing Outlook

With the new features and design updates, the 2026 Glanza facelift is expected to see a price increase compared to the current model, which ranges from Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Hyundai i20.
