In a remarkable display of determination, 47-year-old Ramabai Ranveer, a widow from Maharashtra, clinched victory in her first-ever 3km community race in August, running barefoot. Her goal was simple yet profound: to secure the prize money for her daughters’ education.
The Race for Education
Despite lacking formal training or proper running shoes, Ramabai’s determination propelled her to finish first in the race. The prize money of 3,000 rupees, though modest, was a crucial step toward buying educational materials for her daughters.
